  Do not stay in the hotel accommodation at the Club Hotel Motel. It is vile! The bathrooms and fittings are filthy and stink of rotten egg gas (that may be from bore water), the rooms are tiny with no facilities, the beds are ancient and are on the verge of collapse, some lights don't work. Unless you want to try it for the experience don't be tempted by the $30 tariff, it's not worth it The motel section may be OK, I didn't try it but have a look first before you move in. Have a look at the hotel rooms for the experience but be carefull and watch where you step, you may fall through the floor.

  I stayed in room 2 (from memory) of the "motel" section on 9 August. The single bed mattress was clapped out with springs showing. $85 for the night was about $20 too much for these quarters from my recent bush travelling experience. I could have tried the double/queen bed I suppose but I prefer single. I have stayed here before and like the ambience. Would probably stay again as the cabins/caravan park across the road is upmarket.

  We spent an evening at the pub here in December of 2011 on our road trip through the Queensland bush. It's a great bush pub and one of our favourites on the trip. Don't be deterred by the odd coloured fluorescent lighting, and don't come expecting some sort of Darling Harbour style ritzy steakhouse either. The food was home cooked and simple, but tasted better than excellent. Definitely try the egg salad it was the best I've ever had! They had a good selection of beer, and the prices were very reasonable. To top it off, the staff were very friendly and and happy to sit down and enjoy a chat with you when the evening was coming to a close. If you're in Tambo, I'd highly recommend an evening here at the pub.
